Things fall apart. And they break sometimes. Like many of you, my journey hasn't always been easy. Pain is very real. And so is loss.
Sometimes it's hard not to let the weight of what we carry--or the memory of what we've lost--take over. Many of us know the reality
of struggle, and so many people suffer in silence. It's hard. It's hard not to give up when we face the repeated disappointments
of life. Like some of you, I've known loneliness. I've known defeat. I've fallen many times chasing mirages, and broken many bones

PERCEPTIONS OF ISLAM IN EUROPEAN WRITINGS is part of the wider study of Islam and the West: a history of European, mainly French and English, intellectual responses to Islam from the seventeenth century onwards. It focuses on the nineteenth century. Studies on Islam and the West have so far tended to be dominated by nonMuslim writers. This study, therefore, attempts to put forward a scholarly, Muslim, point of view, on a subject which has acquired increasing importance in our time. Relying on primary European and Islamic source materials, it remains firmly committed to the notion of fidelity to European thought. Cure of our Worries From Durood Shareef.
Since the war in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Americans have been surprised to learn that much of the world now views the United States itself as a major threat to global peace. American international legal expert Francis A. Boyle examines the imperial dimensions of U.S. policy in the Middle East, past and present, which may help to account for these views.
In a hard-hitting commentary well-grounded in fact and in law, Boyle addresses the train of U.S. transgressions of international law, leading to havoc in the region, and destabilization of the world system as a whole. By the presidency of George W. Bush, U.S. policy had evolved to a public assertion of the right to pree
Following in the wake of the controversial paper by Mearsheimer and Walt, The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy, this work by Petras (emeritus, sociology, State U. of New York at Binghamton) takes up the same topic with less restraint and a greater willingness to criticize Israeli crimes, US enabling of them, and the lobby that he views as substantially responsible for that enabling. Among the topics he explores the role of pro-Israel officials and journalists in the United States in taking the country into the disastrous war with Iraq, the role of the US in backing Israeli ethnocide in the Palestinian Occupied Territories and in attacking Lebanon, the arena of psychological warfare in wh
