Adjusting Volume Control

Navigate to menu 7. AUDIO. Select Play key. Use the left and right arrow keys to set desired volume.
You may also adjust the volume whilst within the QURAN section and listening to the playback. From here use the up and down keys to adjust the volume

Setting the Time & Date

In the manual it asks you to go to the setup screen to setup the time and date whereas in fact the time setup now appears in option 6. PRAYERS & QIBLA page.
On the Prayer times page depress the play button and you will be presented with the date, time and location settings. The Alfurqan iPod then advises you of the direction in which to pray, using the supplied traditional compass you will then be able to ascertain the direction to pray, inshallah.

Navigate to option 10. PHOTO, do not press the PLAY key, instead, select the DOWN ARROW key. You will now be in Explorer mode. From here you can access the Alfurqan’s internal memory and any external attached SD card for playback of photo, video or audio files.

Both still camera shots and video filming is carried out from option 10. PHOTO on the Alfurqan.
Upon entering menu 10. the camera starts in video or camera mode depending on the setting made via the "LANGUAGE key" (right outer button). Depressing this button will lead to a sub-menu. The first option is CAPTURE MODE. Select this to set your preference.
Please note that by setting to either camera or video mode will dynamically update the parent menu to display the associated settings. Note the title of the menu changes to DV Menu or CAMERA MENU

Ocassionally you will need to reset the unit if it freezes in operation. To reset, just take the end of a bent-out paperclip and insert in the aperture on the side of the Alfurqan marked "reset". This will bring back the unit to its original settings. You may need to set the time and calendar again

There are 25 available language translations available of the Quran. however, only one translation can be viewed at any time whilst the Alfurqan is in Quran play mode, along with the Arabic text.
To set your preferred translation, select menu option No. 11. SETUP, from the next page select TRANSLATIONS. You will then be presented with the first 9 available translations. To access the remaining 14, press the right arrow key.

Place the supplied DVD Media disk in your PC DVD-ROM Drive.
Open the drive from within Windows using the icon; MY COMPUTER
You should be able to see many media files located on the DVD
Connect the Alfurqan iPod to your PC via the supplied USB cable and switch on.
It will be mounted as a removable drive in MY COMPUTER
Again, open this newly mounted drive from within Windows using the icon; MY COMPUTER
You will now have two windows opened on your desktop; one for the DVD disk the other for the Alfurqan. Now drag a file from the window displaying the media files to the iPod drive and drop preferably into the MOVIES folder. The copying procedure will begin.
Disconnect the iPod and browse to the video menu page. Press the PLAY button and the copied file should be present. If not then try to navigate to the folder you placed the file using the UPWARD DIRECTORY option. Once you have located the desired file, simply press the play button whilst it is selected.
