It's hard having another cute kid around when for so long, you were the one who got all of the attention. As Adam's mom's friends coo over his new baby sister, Aneesah, Adam fumes. Not only are his parents giving him less attention, but so are his mom's friends. To make matters worse, even Adam's best friend Asad can't help coo and spoil Aneesah. It's just not fair. "Everyone pays attention to her and she gets away with everything," complains Adam. But when Adam loses Aneesah (after promising to babysit her), he begins to learn some valuable lessons about life and about baby sisters. Home Sweet Home is number eight in the Adam's World series, and focuses on the ongoing sibling rivalry between Adam and Aneesah. It goes back a bit in time, showing when Aneesah was born, Adam's first meeting with her (that's also when she first spits up on him), his feelings of jealousy and resentment. But in the end, Adam's true concern for his baby sister shows how he finally comes to terms with the presence of this new family member. As Muslims living in America, we often times find ourselves trying to negotiate a fault-line between our religious and patriotic duties. This has been especially true in the aftermath of the horrific events of September 11, 2001, events which we are told changed the country, forever. Unfortunately, we find that those attacks have done little to fundamentally change the country. The rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer. Spending for social programs and education is being cut, while the government proposes a half trillion dollar tax cut for the wealthiest segment of the population. Apparently, only money for the building a larger military and more prisons can be found. While this is going on domestically, our increasingly aggressive, antagonistic foreign policy has created a diplomatic nightmare which threatens to destroy the very foundation of the hard-won regime of international law which has brought peace to most of the world's societies, and stability to international relations. It is the face of these realities that Imam Zaid Shakir examines the responsibilities of Muslims in America, as we negotiate the above mentioned fault-line, and the challenge facing America to come to grips with Islam. For as he cogently argues, if America can responsibly deal with the challenge of Islam, she will be able to responsibly deal with the challenges of the post-September 11th world.

A difficult but highly important topic is dealt with by the Author who is a trained expert on the Legal aspects of Marriage who has advised hundreds of couples. What should be done in cases of breakdown of relationships? Must the partners stay in the hell they have made? Or may a way-out be found for them? Orthodox Christianity says blankly. "No divorce!" But Islam more realistically faces the consequences of irreparable breakdown as a fact, and provides a way-out. Every possible safeguard is laid down in the statute book to prevent such a way-out by divorce being abused.

The General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) Arabic Essential Vocabulary List is a supplementary tool to aid students intending to take the GCSE Arabic language examination. All the words are listed by topic, thus covering the main areas required in the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) for the GCSE examination. In addition, there is a useful list of prepositions, adjectives and verbs, which are given in the masculine and feminine forms. The last pages of this book link key words to pictures in order to further help the student recall essential vocabulary. In this new revised version, the accent (vocalization) marks have been added on the Arabic words to ease pronunciation, new words have been included in each section, as well as some useful sentences for "real life" situations.
