The present work is a revised version of my earlier research which I undertook in Shah-i Hamadan Institute of Islamic Studies, University of Kashmir. It is on Sayyid Jama 1 al-Din al-Afgha ni's (1838/39-1897) contribution to Islamic Thought; which he propounded as a reformist thinker and in response to the western culture. This theme is analytically treated in the work to highlight the intellectual and practical role of the Jamal al-Din al-Afgha ni. In the completion of the work I am indebted to the guidance and help of my teachers, colleagues and friends. Aisha (Radiyallah Anha) reports that once she said: "0 Rasulullah (Sallaallahu Alaihi Wasallam) Jihad (Striving or fighting in the cause of Allah) is the best deed. Should we (women), then not actively participate in it? Rasulullah (Sallaallahu Alaihi Wasallam) replied the best Jihad for you (women) is Hajj Mabroor." (Bukhari 2 :595) Aisha (Radiyallah Anha) reports, I was menstruating when I reached Makkah. So I neither performed Tawaaf of the Ka'bah, nor the Saee between Safa and Marwah. Then I informed the Rasulullah (Sallaallahu Alaihi Wasallam) about it. He replied, perform all the ceremonies of Hajj like the other pilgrims, but do not perform Tawaaf of the Ka'bah till you get clean (from your menses). The prophet I `sa ~i is one of the great messengers of Allah, but is one who has been depicted in various beliefs with many representations. Christianity has gone so far as to confer the role of divinity upon him, whereas Qadianism has taken a totally opposite view by slandering and abusing the prophet I `sa considerably. Only Islam has given a clear, concise account of I`sa as a prophet of Allah. Whomever Allah (SWT) guides, no-one can lead astray, and whomever He leaves astray, no-one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah (SWT) Alone Who has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Slave and Messenger. As a continuation of the Bidayat al-Salikin series, Allah (SWT) has enabled me to produce this book, The Grave-Punishment and Blessings. I believe that it was necessary to present this information to my Muslim brothers, because the punishments and blessings of the grave are topics which have to do with 'Aqidah, topics which we must know about.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious,the Most Merciful All praise is due to Allah, Who provided you with a fertile wife and made you of those whose children will succeed them. How many men and women are barren and cannot have any children? Thus, this is a great blessing. "Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world." (18:46) Therefore, receive the gift of Allah with happiness, delight, thanks and praise, whether the child is a boy or a girl. It a sufficient blessing for you that the child has all of its limbs, is normal in its growth, and free of illnesses. Therefore, Blessed be Allah, the Best of creators, Who granted and bestowed by His munificence and His grace.

the Holy Prophet appeared in his dream and Imaam Buseeri l' recited this poem infront of him &. The Holy Prophets gave him a garment (burdah) and prayed for him. When he woke the next morning, Imaam Buseeri was miraculously cured from his illness.

It is the nature of this life that people will suffer from worries and stress, because this world is the place of disease, hardship and suffering. It is also the nature of this life that people have to put up with suffering and hardship for various reasons. So people feel regret for what has happened in the past, anxious about what may happen in the future, and worried about what is going on in the present. The things that cross our minds and make us feel distressed are things in the past that have caused grief, things in the future that we are worried about, and things in the present which concern us. People react differently to stress and worries, depending on how many things are concerning them, whether the worry is continuous or not, and on whether they have faith in their hearts or are rebellious and sinful... We may describe people's hearts as being of two types: either the heart is the throne of Allah, filled with light, life, happiness, joy and all the treasures of goodness; or it is the throne of Shaytan, wherein is distress, darkness, death, grief, worry and anxiety.
