Me, Myself and I
'None of you truly believed, until he desires fopr his brother, that which he desires for himself' declared the Prophet (PBUH). One can never attain taqwa (fear of Allah) and be truly successful in religion until one adopts and practices selflessness. It wsa the selflessness and the self-sacrifice of the Prophet (PBUH) and the Sahabah which was responsible for Islam reaching us today. Islam has placed a great emphasis on the spirit of sacrifice within many of its teachings. Selfishness is disease which is rampant amongst people, both Muslims and non-Muslims. This talks discusses some aspects of selfishness.
The Globalised Suffering of the Muslims
All over the globe one hears of Muslims suffering and being oppressed at the hands of tyrannical rulers and their allies, despite having control over the majority of the Worlds natural resources. An explanation of a hadeeth and its relation to the current day situation, where the noble Prophet (PBUH) prophesised how the nations will gather against the Muslims before the ned of time makes up the opening part of this speech. Events in certain parts of the world are mentioned and the Muslims are reminded that we are not to despair, as Allah's promise will reign supreme and His assistance is near.
Love for the Prophet"
One has not truly believed until he comes to love the Prophet of Allah more than himself and the whole world. The discourse outlines how the Prophet of Allah is more beloved to Allah than His Angels, and His whole creation. Achieving this most lofty state is the subject of this heart rendering and inspiring appeal to all who profess to love the Messenger of Allah .
The Lure of Sheraton Promise of Allah
Shaitan is man's avowed enemy and he is relentless in his pursuit of leading mankind astray. The manner in which he leads one astray will differ in accordance with the individual. This talk expounds the various deceptive strategies employed by him, both in thought and action in order to bring about man's downfall. In contrast, Allah has promised the gardens of paradise for those who remain steadfast.
The Evil Within
Two of the greatest blessings from Allah are peace and prosperity. Today many Muslims despair over the fact that they are deprived of these two blessings by the enemies of Islam. However, Muslims should realise that they too are responsible for the deprivation of these two blessings and guilty of inflicting dhulm upon one another mentally and emotionally. This form of dhulm is often overlooked, although it may prove to be more destructive than the former.
The Importance of Change
The eagerness to reform the ummah and raise high the banner of Islam is very evident in Muslim circles. However, the very basis that forms the concept of change and reform as addressed in the Quran and Sunnah is nonchalantly overlooked. One must look introspectively at one's own self and adopt the Shariah individually prior to setting out on changing others.
