The Shaikh explains what is Taghoot according to Quran and Sunnah and what is the downfall of the Muslims today because Allah says
"And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the believers." (Q4:141)
So why is it, we are in this poor state of affairs? Reasoning being is we believe in the taghoot as well as Allah (swt). And not until we reject the taghoot will we be successful in this life and the next.

Narrated lbn 'Abbas: The Prophet (PBUH) once passed by two graves and said "These two persons are being tortured for a major sin (to avoid). One of them never saved himself front being soiled with his urine, while the other used to go about with calumnies (to make enmity between friends)...."
The Shaikh describes we all yearn for Paradise. Allah has describe paradise using many ayats from the quran, but we need to ask ourself have we earned this beautiful gift which Allah (swt) has reserved for his pious servants? As Allah says
Allah has promised to the believers-men and women,-gardens under which rievrs flow to dwell therein forever, and beautiful mansions in gardens of Adn (Eden paradise). But the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allah. That is the supreme success. (9:72)
Their reward with the Lord is Adn (Eden) paradise (gardens of Eternity), undreenath which rivers flow, they will abide therein forever, Allah Well-Pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. That is for him who fears his Lord. (98:8)
