It is essential that every mother reads this book. For this book makes her aware of her responsibilities and also provides a means of fulfilling those duties and achieving the desired objective.
It is very important for anyone who wants to spread the message of Islam to study the life of the Prophet (*) and discover how he undertook the mission of da` wah (Call to Islam). By studying his seerah (biography), we learn the lessons of patience in the face of adversity and opposition, and the readiness to sacrifice everything for the cause of Islam. In this book, Dr. as-Sibaa` ie shows us how the Prophet's approach was gentle, yet determined and clear-cut, with no compromise on basic issues.
Mustafa as-Sibaa` ie, in the cause of Allah, was a lecturer in the University of Damascus, where he taught seerah (the Prophet's biography). In this book, he draws on his experience in the field and combines it with his knowledge of the seerah. He takes the most important events of the seerah, summarizes them in order to offer a brief overview, then outlines the lessons to be learnt from these events.
This is an excellent introduction to both, the seerah and the principles of da` wah. It should be on the bookshelf of every Muslim who wants to call others to Allah (the Almighty).

PALESTINE Yesterday, today and tomorrow
Dr. Tareq M. Suwaidan
This book is a brief overview of the long and turbulent history of Palestine, from its dawn to the present day. It is a chronological sequence of events to demonstrate the significance of the "Holy Land," one of the territories over which much blood has been spilt throughout history.
This well-documented reference book is the result of four years of research by the author. It contains more than 1000 pictures that support and graphically illustrate the text. Numerous statistics substantiate the problems that persist in the area, prompting a reflection on possible solutions.
In addition to this succinct chronicle of Palestine's most relevant historical events, which have also impacted the whole Middle East, the author shares his impressions and viewpoints of the past, present and future of Palestine.
This book is an invitation for all of us to participate in the process of establishing the justice and peace that is deserved by all the people of Palestine.
"If there is much misunderstanding in the West about the nature of Islam, there is also much ignorance about the debt our own culture and civilisation owe to the Islamic world. It is a failure, which stems, I think, from the straight-jacket of history, which we have inherited. The medieval Islamic world, from central Asia to the shores of the Atlantic, was a world where scholars and men of learning flourished. But because we have tended to see Islam as the enemy of the West, as an alien culture, society, and system of belief, we have tended to ignore or erase its great relevance to our own history."
Prince Charles, Oxford University Speech 1993
The Hidden Debt to Islamic Civilisation is a thorough study of that relevance and how it has been hidden from Western consciousness. Al-Djazairi puts his many years of expert work as an historian into this book.
From street lighting to soap, from trigonometry to algebra, from windmills to universities, from nutrition to surgery of the eye, from the paper industry to mass literacy, from the banker's cheque to religious freedom, Western civilisation owes its emergence to its encounter with the Islamic world.
Yet few people are aware of this debt. Political efforts at overpowering the Muslim world have had no small part to play in this concealment, just as they had no small part to play in the decline of Islamic Civilisation. Recognising and understanding this debt is a vital part of bringing about a more just world where Islam ...read more
This is very difficult to learn Urdu language without physical appearance of the teacher. But it was the demand of the people to learn Urdu themselves, similar to the other western languages. Keeping this in mind, Prof. 'Aziz-ur-Rahman has written this book for the beginners to learn this language in a very short period. The author has introduced the language from initial stages in a very systematic way, mentioning words and sentences in Roman English (Transliteration) to read, write and speak properly.
Mozzam Begg Is an ordinary man who has endured an extraordinary fate – he is one of nine Britons detained in the camps at Guantanamo Bay, imprisoned for a crime
he didn't commit and whose precise nature has never been determined. The US government labelled him simply an 'enemy combatant'.
Moazzam was abducted at his home in Pakistan, where he had relocated his family during the panic-stricken weeks after the 9/11 attacks, and the US bombing of Afghanistan which followed – he had been working there on education and water projects. Hooded, shackled and cuffed, he was taken first to the US detention facility at Kandahar, then on to Bagram, and finally to Guantanamo Bay. In all he spent three years in prison, much of it in solitary confinement, and was subjected to over three hundred interrogations, as well as death threats and torture, witnessing the killings of two detainees. He was released early in 2005 without explanation or apology.
Enemy Combatant is his riveting story. Taking us behind the razor wire for the first time, it reveals the terrifying and Kafka-esque world into which he was thrown, a world governed by confusion, fear and frustration as he and his fellow inmates struggled to come to terms with their indefinite incarceration, and accused of being enemies of the United States. Here too is a fascinating insight into the mindsets of his captors and interrogators, describing not just the pointlessness of much of the questioning from MI5, the CIA or the FBI, bu...read more
