2443. 30 Ways to Achieve Happiness
By Aidh Ibn Abdullah Al-Qarni

All praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, seek His Aid and ask for His Forgiveness. We seek Refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves and from the evil of our actions. Whosoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whosoever Allah misguides none can guide. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah 50, having no partners, and I testify that Muhammad is His Slave and Messenger. The best speech is the ook of Allah, the Qur'an, and the best guidance is that given by Muhammad . The most evil affairs are innovations; every innovation is a Bid'a, every Bid'a is a misguidance, and every misguidance lands one in the Hellfire. This is a short book that I have written in two days, when I was in the vicinity of the Noble Ka'bah, the place of revelation. This book deals with the subject of happiness, asking Allah to make us happy in this world and the Hereafter, by calling the readers to a better and peaceful life. To my brothers and sisters of Islam, read this book wholeheartedly, implement it in your daily life, follow its guidance, and read it to your family, children and friends. This book is like a flower, with a beauty that will fill your life with a pleasant essence in your library or at your bedside.

2447. The Miracle of Respiration: DVD
By Harun Yahya

The author, who writes under the pen-name HARUN YAHYA, was born in Ankara in 1956. Having completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara, he then studied arts at Istanbul's Mimar Sinan University and philosophy at Istanbul University. Since the 1980s, the author has published many books on political, faith-related and scientific issues. Harun Yahya is well-known as an author who has written very important works disclosing the imposture of evolutionists, the invalidity of their claims and the dark liaisons between Darwinism and bloody ideologies such as fascism and communism. His pen-name is made up of the names "Harun" (Aaron) and "Yahya" (John), in memory of the two esteemed prophets who fought against lack of faith. The Prophet's seal on the cover of the author's books has a symbolic meaning linked to the their contents. This seal represents the Qur'an, the last Book and the last word of God, and our Prophet, the last of all the prophets. Under the guidance of the Qur'an and Sunnah, the author makes it his main goal to disprove each one of the fundamental tenets of godless ideologies and to have the "last word", so as to completely silence the objections raised against religion. The seal of the Prophet, who attained ultimate wisdom and moral perfection, is used as a sign of his intention of saying this last word.

2451. In the Shade of the Quran Vol. 8: Surah 9
By Sayyid Qutb

click here for reviews  (1 review)

Ever since its revelation 1400 years ago, the Qur'an has been a book of guidance and inspiration, a reference point, and a rich source of social and moral dynamism for LA hundreds of millions of people throughout the world who believe it to be the immutable word of God. Hardly a generation passes without a fresh attempt to unravel the meanings of the Qur'an and gain deeper insight into its universal message within a contemporary perspective. In the Shade of the Quran is more than `just another' commentary; yet it is not too over-reaching or outlandish to be a completely new interpretation. It is an earnest, sincere and sober look at man's contemporary achievements and difficulties in the light of the message of the Qur'an. It is an effort to vigorously explore its rich wisdom, and expand its invaluable guidance for the benefit of an increasingly `sophisticated', yet highly perplexed modern society. The work, which is by far Sayyid Qutb's largest and most profound, spans the whole of the text of the Qur'an. It was written, and partly re-written, over a period of more than 15 years, most of which the author had spent in Egyptian prisons, during the 1950's and 1960's. In it is embedded Sayyid Qutb's insight, highly esteemed intellectual vigour, and his widely-acclaimed literary prowess. In the Shade of the Qur'an has been universally recognised as an outstanding contribution to Islamic thought and scholarship, to which students and scholars, as well as contemporary Islamic rev...read more

It is very clear that the purpose behind the creation of man, a being who possesses reason, conscience and common sense, is not to acquire temporary benefits in the short life of this world. This film aims to remind you this fact, that the life of this world is merely a temporary testing place, in which people are tried before they reach the infinite hereafter…

2453. The Creed of Islam
By 'Abdul Haleem Mahmud

The Creed of Islam This is a study of Islam, dealing with the principles of the Islamic creed and touching on the effect they have on the individual who practises them. The essays have been compiled to celebrate the occasion of the World of Islam Festival, which was held in London from April to June 1976. It is hoped that, along with other works, it will give readers the opportunity to become acquainted with the essence of Islam and its message. This book aims at the general reader and gives simple images of the tenets of the Islamic creed without becoming too technical or going into great detail. The reader will observe that we have attempted to let the Qur'an and Sayings of the Prophet (Hadith) speak for themselves as they are the main sources of Islamic teachings - and that we have not added anything which has no support in these. Quotes inside the book: "To begin with, we have the first statement of belief: I bear witness that there is no god but God. The eternal Divine Message, and secondly: I bear witness that Muhammad is His Messenger, who transmitted the Message. These two statements sum up the doctrine of the Unity of God. So the duty to declare this Unity is the basis and essence of Islam, but it is not mere expression without foundation in the heart and feelings. Unless a man's belief in the Unity of God dominates him completely, penetrating all areas of his feeling and awareness, soaking up his heart and soul, moulding the activity of his body and directi...read more

2458. Commentary on the Forty Hadith Vol 1 & 2
By Jamaal al-Din Zarabozo

Commentary on the Forty Hadith of al-Nawawi About the Book From the Introduction by Dr. Jaafar Sheikh Idris This is a great commentary on a great book. Br. Jamaal Zarabozo is to be congratulated for producing such a scholarly work. He is also to be thanked for giving the English speaking students of Islam the chance to taste the flavor of in-depth knowledge of hadith, a flavor that has been up to now the prerogative of speakers of Islamic languages, especially Arabic. He is also to be commended for choosing al-Nawawi's Forty Hadith because they are known to he among the most important sayings of the Prophet (peace be upon him). In-depth knowledge of them is thus sure to give the reader, even if he or she is a novice, a comprehensive view of the most fundamental Islamic beliefs and principles. No wonder that this book has been for hundreds of years among the most popular of Islamic books in the Muslim world... There are many commentaries on this book from which Br. Zarabozo has definitely benefited: but his is not a mere translation or summary of those commentaries-it is an original commentary the English speaking reader will find more useful and interesting than mere translations of those traditional commentaries. The advantage of this book comes out clearly in the original method the author followed in his study of these prophetic sayings... the author delves into the main business of studying the hadith in great detail and depth. Every phrase of the hadith is studied li...read more

2459. Description Of Paradise: From The Quraan And Authentic Sunnah
By Waheed Abdussalaam Bali

click here for reviews  (2 reviews)

THE AUTHOR'S INTRODUCTION All praise is due to Allah, we praise Him, seek His Support, Guidance and Forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our selves and from our misdeeds. He whom Allah guides will never be misguided by anyone and he whom Allah misguides will never be guided by anyone. I testify that there is no God but Allah Alone, having no partner, and I testify that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger. The truest discourse is the Qur'an, the most noble of traditions is the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH), the most evil of things is their novelties, every novelty is a bid'a, every bid'a is a dhalala (act of misguidance) and every dhalala is in Fire. The abundance of literature on the issue of Paradise and Hellfire can hardly be overlooked. However, the problem with this literature is that it contains both authentic and weak traditions of the prophet (PBUH), and its authors were so tolerant towards the issue on the grounds that weak traditions are part of instilling in the reader a sense of desire of Paradise and fear of Hellfire. There are two arguments concerning this point: First, information on Paradise and its blessings, and Hellfire and its torment is part of the unseen (Al-Ghayb) which is at the heart of the Islamic Creed (Aqida). But, how can one be so tolerant towards this matter? Second whoever has studied the books on traditions deeply, would find out that authentic tradititions are sufficient evidence and would do away fabricated traditions. T...read more
