Jesus Christ represents the common link between the two religions having the most followers on the earth today, Christianity and Islam. The following study of Jesus' message and his person is based on this link. It is hoped that through this study, both Muslims and Christians will better understand the significance of Jesus and the importance of his message.

The Bible is the basis for the teachings of Christianity, and the QurªGn is the main source of Islamic Religion and Law, this book compares Islam and Christianity according to a comparative study of the Bible and the Quran. Preface A religion should not be judged by the opinions and attitudes of its biased enemies. Neither should it be judged by the behavior of some of its nominal followers because there are bad people among every religious group, and making a judgment based on those people is misleading as they may be violating their religion. A religion should rather be judged by its teachings as well as the effects of these teachings on its real followers. Since the Bible is the basis for the teachings of Christianity, and the Qur'an is the main source of Islamic Religion and Law, this book compares Islam and Christianity according to a comparative study of the Bible and the Qur'an. This approach ensures that the comparison is based on facts and not on prejudice or misunderstanding. It should be emphasized that when this book talks about Islam, it does not give exaggerated or insincere information to persuade the reader, but rather presents the real teachings of Islam. Everything mentioned in this book, about Islam, is supported by Verses from the Qur'an which was revealed about fourteen hundred years ago. Revised Edition. This book examines Jesus as a prophet teaching the Unity of God, and the historical collapse of Christianity as it abandoned his teaching. The author sketches the dramatic picture of the original followers of Jesus who affirmed Unity. What emerges is that "Christianity" is the fiction that replaced their truth. A work that covers the Gospel of Barnabas, the Gospel of Hermes, the Shephard, early and later Unitarian Christians, Jesus in the Gospels and in the Qur'an and Hadith. The author clearly shows the idea of Jesus as part of a Trinity was a Greek Pagan idea adopted by early Christian mission-aries to gain converts among the Greek, and did not become a widely accepted Christian doctrine until after the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D. This revised edition of Jesus, Prophet of Islam comes some eighteen years after the first edition was first published, and seventeen years after its principal co-author, Muhammad Ata ur-Rahim, alehi rahma, died in London, after travelling half way around the world solely in order to be able to complete the book on Jesus, peace be on him, that he had always longed to write. Although the first edition has never been out of print, the book's other co-author, Ahmad Thomson, became increasingly aware that there was room for improvement in a revised edition, especially as regards integrating new material into the text which was not so readily available when the two authors first commenced work on the book together twenty years ago. As Muslims we are required to believe in previous Prophets and their Scriptures. In the Holy Qur'an we are told that Jesus (Isa) came with the Injil (Gospel). We cannot truly say if this was a book or only a collection of his oral teachings, but we believe he received the Injil. The four Gospels of modern day Christianity include sayings that are contrary to common sense and to the teachings of Isa found in the Holy Qur'an. Thus we must look elsewhere to find a source of Isa's teachings. The long lost Gospel of Barnabas is one such source. Recognized by Muslims the world over, it is a valuable source for comparative religion and the life history and teachings of Isa.

We read the following words In the Book of Deuteronomy, chapter xviii, verse 18: "I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth." If these words do not apply to Muhammad, they still remain unfulfilled. Jesus himself never claimed to be the Prophet alluded to. Even his disciples were of the same opinion: they looked to the second coming of Jesus for the fulfilment of the prophecy. So far it is undisputed that the first coming of Jesus was not the advent of the "prophet like unto thee," and his second advent can hardly fulfil the words. Jesus, as is believed by his Church, will appear as a Judge and not as a law-giver; but the promised one has to come with a "fiery law" in "his right hand."
