Description:
Comfortable,warm,practical and attractive, this traditional Afghan hat is made of pure thick wool.It is deep brown in colour and has the simple authentic Afghani style. Llined interior. Inside circumference of hat approx. 60 cm although this can be altered by rolling a thinner or thicker border by adding or removing material scraps.

It's difficult to make a statement with an affordable hat that doesn't promote some unnecessary product, sports team or western ideal.
And then there's the Pakol... and what a statement it makes!
Believe me - heads turn when you walk past in this number.
It's a bit on the itchy side, but it's good at keeping your head and ears warm AND look cool at the same time.
All I need now is to grow some serious stubble and I'd really look the part. |

I bought a Pakol and was quite pleased to find that I could receive several "gifts" free. I chose more Pakols and they are all great. Very well made, very sturdy and good looking. I gave one to my son-in-law and he enjoyed being able to choose. Thanks so much! |

Nothing wrong with the product although the colour described as brown & shown as brown in the photo in the catalogue & on the website was not the colour of the hat received. The one I received was a mustard/brown nothing like the photo colour. |

My husband loves hats. He has admired afgan hats. I surprised him with one for Christmas and he was delighted. It is warm, and comfortable. It is noticed whenever he wears it. |

I came upon Simply Islam by chance while searching for an Afghan hat and promptly ordered one (or two, actually, as I pressed the order button twice. Simply Islam, however, thoughtfully sent me an email to check).
I am very pleased with both hats, which have been my winter headgear for about two years. They are warm, pretty windproof and very hard wearing. |

No the size of the hats are determined by the thickness of the roll which can be adjusted. There is no elastic inside:

Is there any difference between the dark brown and brown pakol hats. The brown says it's wool and the dark brown says it's a warm material. Does the black pakol come in a smaller size other than large. |

No they are all the same just different colours. The size is only the upper part of the hat. The actual band can be adjusted to the size of your head according to the size of roll. |

I am afraid that there is no standardisation of sizes of the hats that we sell. However most tend to be 'flexible' to fit most head sizes. As a general rule I would suggest that 56cm circumference of head size would be the ideal size for most of our hats. |

The hats are all one size and should fit. A lot depends on how much stuffing is placed in the roll of the hat, or how little if any. |

Years ago when I lived in London, I purchases a hat like the one Hamid Karzdi wears.
Now I live in Kansas, US, and would like to have another like that fir hat.

There is a lot of dicussion about size of fit. Some too large: others too small. You say "can be adjusted". What is the maximum and minimum size we can adjust to and precisely how? |

Greetings,having owned several pakols over the years I have noticed a difference in the quality of the wool used in the making.Are you able to get any kashmere wool pakols?or is it my imagination that there is any difference,I would be interested if you could clear this up as I may be looking at purchasing in bulk.Many thanks,keith. |
