GREAT BOOKS FOR LEARNING ARABIC |

These books half english text explaining the lesson. Each lesson then has a set of exercises which are completely in Arabic. These exercises only use what was learned of Arabic _up to_ and including everything up to that point in the book. That is why these are GREAT FOR LEARNING CLASSIC ARABIC. Furthermore, it uses the arabic words and vocab that you would find in the Qur'an and Hadith. I just finished the 2nd book and am moving on to the 3rd. These books are great for even complete beginners of Arabic (assuming you know the alphabets already and how to write them and read them) |

A very user friendly and linearly progressive book on learning Arabic. But some basic knowledge of reading arabic is required prior. |

This is an interesting course.
The vocabulary is useful and the exercises are clear and constructive.
There are some occasional typo's, but this is not too bad.
It would be a good idea to have some CD-roms accompanying the books, containing the texts and some of the exercises, e.g. those cast in a question-answer form. That would greatly help the learners with their pronunciation and listening skills.
All in all, a good set of books, especially for those who know some Arabic already or those who have a native speaker to take them through the material.
