We are running an Islamic girls school in Birmingham, U.K. We were continually encountering problems with student’s punctuality, so at the beginning of this year we made a contract which every parent signed. In the contents of this agreement we have included our lates policy which is any girl coming late will have to do kidmat for 10 minutes after class finishes. And for the supervision of this kidmat we have to pay an APA /teacher. The late girl is charged 50p to cover the wage of the Apa/Teacher as the shuraa feel it is unfair to take this money from the rest of the girl’s fees.
One parent after signing this agreement is now refusing to pay this 50p stating it is a ‘fine’ (jurmaana) and that it is haraam to take this money from the student as it is not permissible to take a fine from a tallibul ilm.
In the U.K according to the law we are unable to mete out other forms of punishment. (Making the student stand, excluding them from lessons, separation etc.) . This policy was working for our madressa and we wish to know if we are committing a haraam act or if we may continue.

The capsule is the item to look at as it usually containes animal gelatine. I do not know what 'hydroxypropylmethylcellulose' is. Our Garlic and blackseed capsules are made with halal gelatine. |
