Description:
This book highlights aspects of the lives of thirty Companions of the Prophet, some famous, others almost completely unknown. Here the trials and triumphs of the early Muslims as individuals are well-portrayed. Their various paths to Islam - sometimes direct, sometimes long and tortuous, their devotion to the noble Prophet, their endeavours in peace time and their exploits in war - all serve to cast them in a heroic mould. This is the first of two (formerly published as a series of three) books based on original Arabic sources and written in a style that is lively and often gripping. The lives of the Sahabah or Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, is a rich storehouse of knowledge, guidance and inspiration. The men and women whose stories are told here helped to lay the foundations of a new world order, and it is only fitting that they should be more widely known.

Salam
Alhamdulillah... this book is a very well written book with short concise stories of various sahabah. Easy reading, personally, the best thing for me is the fact that you can read it by part in a long span of time without having to revisit previous chapters as the stories are largely unrelated to each other.
Excellent free time reading for those whose time is mostly occupied (such as myself). In fact, I think this book is even good for bed time stories for your kiddies, or even old geezers not unlike myself :)
Definitely a 5 star product, worth every penny and more! |

Salaam, when I began to read this book, I was enthralled. I found myself in awe of the companions of the prophet, and how they strugged to have the freedom of saying 'La ilaha ilal lah'. When an aunty of mine got ahold of it she wouldn't put it down. The dretail and the flow of the book is well blended, and I have to recommend this fantastic book that sheds light on the lives of the best generation |
