He received his Masters Degree in Engineering from Wisconsin University, USA and Ph.D. from the University of Sydney, and has been involved in teaching Engineering in India, Australia and Papua New Guinea for the last 3 5 years. Ever since his arrival in Australia in 1971, along with his academic pursuits, he has been engaged in setting up student and community organisations. He was founder President of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) and member of the Board of Directors of the Australian School of Islamic Information (ASII). He is currently Director of the Islamic Foundation for Education and Welfare (IFEW), and chief editor of Insight, Sydney, Australia.
