This book offers a simple introduction to the script of the Quran and includes the translation of the opening Surah, al-Fatihah, which is recited in every Prayer. There is a brief introduction to the belief in Allah, the Prophet and the Quran, and the Muslim way of worship. Chapters on the Muslim way of life give great importance to cleanliness, table manners, respect for parents, elders, teachers, and books. Islamiyat is a series of five textbooks for primary level. It comprises easy explanations of basic principles in an interesting, colourful and interactive manner, designed for teaching Islam to students of English medium schools. The books are based on the National Curriculum of the Ministry of Education. A short list of objectives and learning outcomes is provided at the beginning of the books to guide the teachers in planning their lessons. She holds a Master's degree in English Literature as well as a degree in education. Widely travelled with a wealth of knowledge in her field, she has almost 30 years experience of teaching in some of the most prestigious institutions in Karachi and Brunei. She has been an English teacher at the English Language Training Centre of the Imperial Iranian Air Force in Tehran and at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Manora. Her other works include rom the Quran', also published by Oxford University Press.
